Welcome Solo Entrepreneurs - solopreneurs!
What is in HIGH DEMAND, SHORT SUPPLY, and COMPETES with each other?
Your TIME, your MONEY and your ENERGY. Let me help you put your time, money and energy back to work for you!
You have taken the leap to own your business, you are experiencing the joy of sharing your amazing talents and gifts with the world. The thrill of making a difference in other people's lives reminds you of why you do what you do.
Then the reality of running your own business hits you hard. You are ...
- Frustrated: Not knowing what to do with that stack of business cards
- Discouraged: Not following up to build relationships with clients
- Annoyed: With those receipts that need to be processed
- Embarrassed: Spending money that didn't help your business grow
- Overwhelmed: Trying to fit everything into your calendar
- Lonely: Feeling the pressure of having to go it alone
- Sad: Not giving your family or yourself the attention they deserve
- Just plain mad: Not making the money you set out for yourself
You look around and discover that you are the bottleneck that is preventing your business from growing. It might give you comfort in knowing that you are not alone, but I also must tell you that these are many of reasons that entrepreneurs give up on their dream.
There is good news! There is a time tested, simple way to turn these disappointments around and begin to love what you do again and put your business back on the fast track.
Having reliable and repeatable systems is at the heart of having a joyful business. Here is how you can get started turning those disappointments into joys:
- Realize the results that matter most. As Stephen Covey points out, "First Things First!" Many of us fill our to-do lists with activities which appear to require immediate attention. Without a clear and compelling mission statement you can be very busy following a to-do list without creating anything of value. You can begin right where you are now. Create a mission statement to look at the big picture and guide your goals. Increase your awareness daily of what's really important to you. What do you want to be known for? Increased focus allows you to receive, recognize and fully integrate your mission.
- Create patterns of executions. Tom Peters wrote "Don't push growth; remove the factors that limit growth." When we force things to happen it takes more energy. Pick one thing that you want to shift from being out of control to an easy flowing process. Lets take those pesky business cards for example. The question is not "what should I do with them?" The question we need to ask is "What can they do for me?" Then determine what action must be taken to get the greatest benefit from having this person's business card. Soon a pattern will emerge and you'll discover a specific intention for the relationship. When you follow through you create powerful, lasting relationships that help your business. Lastly, write down the steps of execution and let those business cards serve you!
- Have some fun! Paul Hawkens said “Good management is the art of making problems so interesting and their solutions so constructive that everyone wants to get to work and deal with them.” Make it a game, have some fun battling the negative foes in your business and turn them into positive supportive alliances.
